WEC 46 Varner vs Henderson - Results
Battle of the Female Fight Pickers: Time has flown by this week! Hayley will be back next week with her thoughts on Sunday’s WEC and Monday’s Ultimate Fight Night.
How did I do against my original picks?
Two nights of great fights. I know someone who picked 10 out of 10 fights, but it wasn't me. I'm immensely proud of Ben Henderson for claiming the victory and becoming the WEC Undisputed Lightweight Champion.

My Winning Picks: WEC 46 - Picked 6 out of 10 winners
- Ben Henderson defeats Jamie Varner
- Uriah Faber defeats Raphael Assuncao
- Mike Brown defeats Anthony Morrison
- Kamal Shalorus defeats Dave Jansen
- Eddie Wineland defeats George Roop
- Charlie Valencia over Akitoshi Tamura
My Other Picks
- Devidas Taurosevicius over Mackens Semerzier
- Will Campuzano over Coty Wheeler
- Mark Hominick over Bryan Caraway
- Wagnney Fabiano over Clint Godfrey
Great fights with tough fighters and an impressive television viewing audience compared with WEC 45. I love to watch the lighter weight guys fight. In my opinion, people don’t know what they’re missing by not following WEC as closely as they follow UFC. Plus, live and free works.
“640,000 viewers tuned in for Sunday’s Versus-broadcast of “WEC 46: Varner vs. Henderson,” which took place at the ARCO Arena in Saramento, California and was headlined by a title-unification bout between Ben Henderson and Jamie Varner.
The WEC’s previous event, WEC 45 in December headlined by Donald Cerrone vs. Ed Ratcliff, drew just 330,000 viewers.” courtesy of mmafrenzy.com
Ultimate Fight Night 20 Gray vs Diaz
Well, I was disappointed in my boy, Nate Diaz. He made it personal and forgot about taking care of business and winning the fight. It felt to me like Nate was so focused on settling his grudge with Gray that he took his eye off the main goal. Where was his Jiu Jitsu? Immaturity and arrogance combined to give him a loss. It looked like Nate really believed he was winning. Something’s missing in his fight strategy. Like, maybe having one and executing it.
From @WolverineTim to @thatgirlisfunny I agree. Diaz needs a new camp, away from his brother. That will never happen though. I was only 2 out of 5 last night tho.
Oh, snap. I did better (but not much better) picking fights than Tim. Guess he won’t be jumping into any battle of the Fight Pickers anytime soon.
How did I do with my UFC Fight Night 20 picks?
There’s something funny-looking about the way Amir Sadollah fights. I really like the guy – and he fought an excellent fight! Powerful kicks and punches decidedly shut down Brad Blackburn. But, I put Amir on the same list as Mr. herky-jerky Keith Jardine - they're a couple of wild and crazy, funny-looking fighters.
