Let's say I have the current Major League Baseball rosters to choose from to fill out my slow pitch softball team. I have three main criteria that are softball specific to keep in mind:
1. Can they rake?
2. Can they defend?
3. Can they complete the 12 ounce curls prior to and after the game and add to the party?
Here is my starting line up. Feel free to debate and add in your two cents as the stars aren't always the answer.
SS Hanley Ramirez- If your the best player, your the best player
2B David Wright- Out of position, but it is softball so no big deal. Can move to 3B at anytime
OF Grady Sizemore- All around talent that can draw the hot chicks to the parking lot
C Jim Thome- Would have a blast catching and probably brings a 30 pack to the game
OF Albert Pujols- You know he can range the grass. Dude rakes and can move.EH David Ortiz- Just walk him.
P Matt Stairs- Looks much more like a softball player than a baseball player. Throw in a few LaBatt Blue's for him.
1B Prince Fielder-Obvious right?
OF Carlos Beltran- Can clean the bases or reset the table.
OF Josh Hamilton- Can do it all. Not going to make any party jokes here.
3B Mike Lowell- Grit at the bottom of the order. Thought about Kevin Youkilis here.
I'm going to keep Youkilis, Jose Reyas and Ryan Howard on speed dial.
